Anyone hear the article on the news this am about wet wipes on the beaches? This could act as a catalyst to push for something to be done about wetwipe production/marketing.i still reckon its the toilet wipes that have muddied the water so to speak.when I was around women using baby wipes for changing nappies I dont remember them thinking they could dispose of them down the toilet .

I reckon they should design something similar to the fancy nappy disposal bins that people can have in their home bathrooms.after all who really likes putting tampons in a pedal bin? This would be much more convenient and an acceptable alternative to flflushing.maybe the water company and tampon makers could partner up on this for a promotional offer

I reckon a visual ad campaign is the way forward showing the problems and blockages that the different common items that shouldnt be flushed cause alongside examples of how best to dispose.seeing clearly the problems people cause by flushing something they thought was ok will give them a proper reason to think twice and other dispisal options (even if it is as simple as put in the bin!) will make the change easier

I think the main reason so many things get flushed away is because people equate flushing down the toilet with putting straight in the sewer and see the sewer as the place for all things nasty and dirtydirty.they forget about the small pipes that take things to the sewers !

I think that if children were taught about the need for water conservation they would be enthusiastic about making their parents change their usage and behavior at home!

I think people tend not to see water as a finite resource like gas for example and tend to think that we have plenty so dont see the need to be careful with it.they see it as their right to use as much as they want and seem to think that the water companies are to blame if there is a water shortage! Water meters make people pay more attention as they have to pay for any they waste.wwaste.we probably need to educate people about why we should save water other than to reduce our bill

The only extra things my family put down the loo other than toilet paper are dead goldfish (seemed appropriate at the time!)and spiders.-not sure why!

I have no idea how much water I use but I also dont know how much electricity/energy I use.I think the main thing though is just highlighting the need to be water efficient in the same way as we are encouraged to be energy efficient .I dont think being able to visualise amounts is so important.

Water is a great source of relaxation and pleasure in many different ways.a visit to a spa with the soothing bubbling water jets and therapeutic steam rooms followed by an ice cool down certaiNly recharges my batteries! A spa session can also be a good chance for a girly get together.

My last summer holiday to Croatia had 'water appreciation' at the heart of it.Whether it was floating in the clear blue sea or taking in the amazing sights of lakes and waterfalls at National Parks such as Plitvice Lakes,it took water appreciation to a whole different level! PS Sorry there's no picture included but couldnt get it to work!
