I think it would be great to have a fun mascot for kids to relate to...after all they will be the ones who will be looking after the water after we are gone so it is important they are informed and educated about it. Having a fun and cool mascot for the kids will help them to have fun while learning some interesting facts about water with some tips on how to use it properly

I think this is a great idea aoc27 Education education education someone famously said!!!  In this case you could start  with reception children and make them aware by doing projects on water and all of its uses etc.

Andrew O'Connor Mar 13, 2015

education is a key step and would be very effective i think. yeah they could do fun projects and get really involved in water saving.

Absolutely...what special powers will aqua man have?

Andrew O'Connor Mar 13, 2015

hmm unblock the toilets maybe??lol!save the future of water for mankind or saving you money as well. kids love a super hero so they would listen to what he has to say if he had a superhero style outfit

Janet Bradley Mar 24, 2015

I think he would need xray vision to see where things needed to change... he could see the pipes in the house, or the see the sewers and just know what was happening!

Andrew O'Connor Mar 25, 2015

maybe yeah have special vision to see all the pipes that are blocked and it is his mission to 'clean up the streets'

Talking about Education maybe the water companies could sponsor some enthusiastic 6th formers to come up with some enterprising ideas to help save water and encourage the population to think before turning on a tap. Money would be involved and maybe help with finance through university.

Andrew O'Connor Mar 13, 2015

great idea judith!

Janet Bradley Mar 24, 2015

When I was in 6th form, we went to a university for a day to talk about how we could redesign a Stanley knife. It was a great day, introduced us to what university life was like, plus we came up with a load of ideas.

Your concept is very similar... but with a water saving slant... I really like this as I benefited from my day, so I can see how this would help sixth form science and geography students in particular.

Andrew O'Connor Mar 25, 2015

would be good to have something similar for water

Judith it is truly a good idea ,but with the changing exam systems and the pressures on them to achieve,i do not think they could take on any more.

Andrew O'Connor Mar 22, 2015

would be maybe better suited for younger ones
