Uncaring Society?

Many people go about their daily lives just doing what is best for them, not giving any thought to consequences.Consequently water is just another throw away commodity, and wasted at will.

I have to admit i am one of these people. I suspect over 905 of the public are too. we take water for granted and i never give much thought. The only time i do is washing the car or hosing the few lants we have

ok YORKY, but you're not saying you generally don't care about society / anything at all, and that includes water use are you?  Do you, for example, recycle?

KEVIN TURNER Mar 8, 2015

of cause not, I always recycle and do my bit. Sorry if it came across like that

katie@100open.com Mar 8, 2015

no worries, didn't think you could have meant that!

Hi George, Good use of question mark in your title. Interesting post this - I believe that generally (say 85%?) of people are really caring. So I don't think it's that. I think it's just not knowing that wasting water impacts on the price of water and the environment. What do others think of this post?

It depends on education and also what people are doing locally. Last weekend I went to the museum of Liverpool, and they said that Liverpool as a city is not good at recycling, I live in Powys, which is good at recycling. Average pay between the two areas probably similar, etc, so what is making the difference I don't know, but it must be cultural.

I wonder if there's a correlation between water saving and recycling?

Janet Bradley Mar 8, 2015

That is an interesting point..... some university students should be encouraged to do a study!! :-)

mmm good question not entirely sure
